PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Feldspar is the most abundant mineral group in the Earth's crust, comprising approximately 60% of all terrestrial rocks.

As a critical industrial mineral, feldspar serves as an essential raw material across multiple manufacturing sectors due to its unique alumino-silicate composition and exceptional fluxing properties.

ITC — International Traders Company sources premium-grade feldspar directly from certified Egyptian mines, processing it to meet the exact specifications of ceramic manufacturers, glass producers, paint formulators, and industrial users worldwide. Our feldspar products are available in lump, powder, and micronized forms, with customizable particle sizes and chemical compositions to match your production requirements.

INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS

Ceramics Industry (Primary Use)

Feldspar is the second most important ingredient in ceramics after clay. It acts as a fluxing agent, lowering the melting temperature of quartz and clay during firing, promoting vitrification, and forming a glassy matrix that bonds ceramic bodies together. This results in stronger, more durable tiles, sanitaryware, tableware, and electrical porcelain.

Glass Manufacturing

As a key raw material in glass production, feldspar provides alumina (Al₂O₃) that enhances hardness, durability, and chemical resistance of glass products. Its alkali content (K₂O and Na₂O) acts as a flux, reducing the melting temperature of silica and lowering energy costs in furnace operations.

Paints, Coatings & Adhesives

Fine-milled feldspar serves as an excellent functional filler and extender in paint formulations. It improves opacity, brightness, scrub resistance, and weatherability while reducing production costs by partially replacing more expensive pigments.

Plastics & Rubber

Feldspar functions as a reinforcing filler in plastic and rubber compounds, improving dimensional stability, mechanical strength, tensile properties, and abrasion resistance of finished products.
